Volunteer Application

Volunteering for the Markets

The Markets relies on volunteers, and we thank you for your generosity in supporting this great Denmark institution! Gate Volunteer: you can volunteer to be on the gate for one or two hours. Your job is to welcome people to the markets, ensure there are no dogs, request a gate donation and answer any questions. You will have a tally clicker to count people, a donations box, a map of the markets and a list of stallholders. Gate volunteers will be rostered on sometime between 9am and 3pm. We like to have two people at each of the two gates, so if you have a buddy to work with, nominate them here and get them to also apply! Setup/Pack-down crew – we need people on the Friday and Saturday to help us with a range of tasks. Volunteers need to be physically able. Lead-in Creating awesome banners Putting posters up Social media posts Organising fabulous market-day activities One hundred other possible things!!!! Friday Load the trailer: can be any time during the day Mark out stalls: can be any time during the day Saturday Set-up: 6.30am to 9.30am Pack-down: 4pm to 6pm Direct stallholder traffic 7.30-9.30am Support coordinator with tasks – shifts during day Insurance: We are delighted to have the support of the Denmark Community Resource Centre with us. They are covering insurance for volunteers, and to ensure you are covered, you will need to register as a volunteer with the CRC. There is no charge, and we will forward your name and contact details to them so they can keep it on file – that simple!

To bring the markets back to life, we need you! If you handcraft, make art, grow produce, or cook, we’d love to have you as a stallholder. If you’re keen to lend a hand, we need volunteers for promo, marketing and other bits and pieces ij the lead up, setup, pack-down, gates, bin fairies, and more!
